The Mercedes Benz MB W176 is a Mercedes Benz vehicle model that is associated with the compact class and is sold under the designation A-Class . It was presented as the successor to the W169 Series at the 82nd Geneva Motor Show in March 2012. The market launch took place Europe-wide on 15 September 2012, after production started on 16 July 2012. The first model was delivered on 17 September 2012.

The third generation of the A-Class will initially be offered as a fifth-wheel-drive sedan. Compared to the predecessor model, the sandwich floor pan was abandoned. Instead, the W176 , like the B-Class , builds on the modular front-end drive architecture (MFA).

The successor W177 was featured in Amsterdam on February 2, 2018 and comes to the dealers in May 2018.

The Mercedes Benz MB W169 is a passenger car of the compact class from Mercedes Benz with front-wheel drive sold under the designation A-Class.

Thanks to its innovative design, the engine (just like the W168) can slide under the passenger compartment in the event of a head-on collision and thus effectively reduce the consequences of an accident for the occupants. Due to the sandwich construction (just like the W168), the occupants also sit much higher than other vehicles, which is an advantage in side-impact accidents.

The W169 series replaced the first generation vehicle (W168) in October 2004.

With the new edition, a three-door variant was now available, which is also referred to as C169.

A long version as with the predecessor (V168) was no longer available.

The Mercedes Benz MB W168 is a passenger car of the compact class from Mercedes Benz. The first front-wheel-drive model was introduced in the fall of 1997 as the A-Class .
The innovations of the first A-Class included was the sandwich construction and the engine arrangement with a slanted front wall to the passenger compartment, which allowed a part of the units (engine, transmission and axles) to be stored in a particularly compact way. In a frontal crash, the drive unit submerges under the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

The short version is referred to internally as W168.
The long version introduced in the spring of 2001 is called V168.
