The Mercedes Benz MB W205 is the current series of the middle-class model C-Class from Mercedes Benz. Since March 15, 2014, it replaces the C-Class of the series W204 built between March 2007 and May 2014.
The body weight of the W205 is reduced by 70 kg. Most of the exterior visible body panels are made of aluminum. Another part of the total weight loss of 100 kg is achieved by a smaller tank. This contains a standard 41 liters including reserve and thus 18 liters less than the previous one. A larger fuel tank with 66 liters including reserve is available on request.
In addition this model is the first Mercedes Benz to receive a touchpad for infotainment control and a head-up display . Through the touchpad, letters and numbers can be entered as with competitors' pads. The multimedia system can also be operated with the touchpad, but there is still a turn-knob adjuster available.
In the standard version, the Mercedes Benz star is no longer mounted on the bonnet, but rather recessed in the radiator grille. Black and white is available as a standard Uni varnish. The headlamps are designed in halogen technology , but have LED daytime running lights. The rear lights consist exclusively of LED lights.
Other standard features on all models include an automatic climate control, a leather tri-spoke multifunction steering wheel and the Audio 20 USB audio system with a seven-inch color display. The safety equipment includes ABS, ESP, various airbags - including a knee airbag for the driver - and the collision warning system Collision Prevention Assist Plus .

Series production of the saloon began on 4 February 2014.
The station wagon (T-model) was first presented on 23 May 2014 in the Bremen production plant, the market launch took place in September of the same year.

Combined vehicles are referred to as "T-model" at Mercedes Benz, for tourism and transport. The internal designation of the T-models always begins with the abbreviation S before the serial number (eg S205). This is derived from the internal name "station wagon".

At the International Motor Show (IAA) in September 2015, the coupe was premiered, which has been delivered since December.

On February 29, 2016, the Cabriolet version was presented at the Geneva Motor Show.

The Mercedes Benz MB W204 is the mid-range model C-Class produced between March 2007 and June 2015. It replaced the W203, which was built in 2000.
The first C-Class, the W202, was the entry into the model range of Mercedes Benz when it appeared as the smallest series. From 1997 on, the A-Class was even smaller, but the C Class remained the "smallest" Mercedes Benz with rear-wheel drive. With the third generation W204 , the series has grown slightly larger overall.
The C-Class of the W204 series made some technical changes. Like a new Linguatronic system that understands whole sentences. For the first time, the optional operating and display system COMAND APS NTG 4 had a large screen when the operating system was switched on electrically carried out from the upper part of the center console. For the first time in the middle class, there was an optional Intelligent Light System
Optionally, there was a PRE-SAFE system that can detect an imminent collision in advance and enable pre-impact activation of the belt tensioners or to bring the heads up to an optimal position for the impact of the accident to mitigate.

In March 2014, the production of the T model was discontinued.
Combined vehicles are called "T-models" at Mercedes Benz, for tourism and transport. The internal designation of the T models always starts with the S before the serial number (eg S204 ). This derives from the internal name " station wagon ".

The last model of this series the Coupe was built until June 2015.
Since the beginning of February 2014, the successor W205 has been manufactured.

Thus, an air bag, an improved crash structure of the body, in the doors integrated side impact protection, belt tensioners front, an automatic seat belt height adjustment rear and the anti-lock braking system were standard.
Further differences to the predecessor can be found in the electrical system: for example, electronic speedometer with digital display for kilometers and kilometers per day, instrument cluster with displays in transmitted light technology, warning light in case of failure of fluorescent lamps and a series tachometer. A central locking, also available with infrared remote control on request, also belongs to the standard equipment.
