The Mercedes Benz MB C140 is the coupe version of the 140 sedan, a luxury class car from Mercedes Benz.
Initially, two variants were offered from October 1992:

500 SEC (SEC, acronym for (German language) S -Klasse- E inspritzmotor- C oupé) with a V8-Engine (235 kW) and
   560 SEC with a V12-Engine (290 kW).

Their engines and most of the technology are similar to those of the corresponding 140 sedan. Both were with numerous extras ex factory the top models of the passenger car program of Mercedes Benz. Stylistically, however, they present themselves more independently than their predecessor models of the C126 series.
Three basic technical innovations were first available in the 560 SEC:

In May 1995, a completely newly developed five-speed automatic transmission with slip-controlled torque converter lock-up clutch and electronic control was introduced, which reduces fuel consumption. The new automatic transmission is significantly lighter and more compact than comparable five-speed transmissions at the time, and was also cheaper to produce, as the number of parts could be reduced by almost 40 percent.
Another innovation was introduced at the same time: The C140 (first in the S600 Coupe) was the first Mercedes with the Electronic Stability Program (ESP), which supports the driver in critical situations by counteracting the yaw moment (rotation about the vertical axis) by computer-controlled brake intervention and thus contributes to driving safety.
It was also the first Mercedes from 1995 with the GPS navigation system Auto Pilot System APS, including CD-ROM, maps and color screen

The Mercedes Benz MB C215 is a luxury coupe sold under the name CL-Class . The C215 is based on the platform of the S-Class sedan W220, but has its own body design. The same engines were installed, but only the powerful gasoline engines.
Standard on the Mercedes coupe C215 came based on a steel suspension Active suspension Active Body Control (ABC) are used. The C215 was thus the first car from German production, which was equipped with an active chassis. This technology is only available in the Mercedes S and SL Class, except the CL. On the basis of sensor signals and with the help of special hydraulic cylinders on the axles, ABC compensates for rolling and pitching movements of the body almost completely during roll-off, cornering and braking ( roll stabilization ). Technically, a complete compensation would be possible, but is not applied in terms of driver habits.
Standard equipment of the coupe were::

Brake Assist BAS
  Bi-Xenon headlamp with cleaning system
  Parktronic (parking aid)
Multifunctional steering wheel
Five-speed automatic with tip-shifting
Cruise control with the variable speed control Speedtronic
Automatic climate control with activated carbon filter
electrically adjustable leather seats with memory

The Mercedes Benz MB C216 is a two-door coupe of the upper class and the third generation of the CL-Class . It replaced the previous Coupe C215 in September of 2006. The C216 is based on a slightly modified platform of the S-Class sedan series W221. Compared to its predecessor, the body length increased by 75 to 5065 mm (from summer 2010 to 5095 mm), in the width by 14 to 1871 mm and in height by 20 to 1419 mm.
The base price on market launch was at around 106,000 €, at revise in summer 2010 it was increased to around 120,000 €. In December 2013 the production ended, with free orders could be made until August.
The entry-level model CL 500 was available from April 2006 on request also with the 4MATIC all-wheel drive. For reasons of space, the otherwise standard Active Body Control is replaced by the air suspension Airmatic DC , which is also known from the S-Class.
With the facelift, the CL 500 was replaced by the CL 500 BlueEFFICIENCY , which was again referred to as the CL 500 from May 2013, with 320 kW (435 hp). In addition, the CL 63 AMG has been revised to produce 400 kW (544 hp). also the CL 65 AMG, which now brings it to 463 kW (630 hp).
Optionally, an infrared night vision assistant is used for the first time. In addition to the bi-xenon headlights , far-reaching infrared lights illuminate the street. The reflected light and thermal radiation of objects (people, animals, vehicles, etc.) is detected by a video camera and the image is displayed on the liquid crystal display in the instrument cluster . As a result, the optical visibility is increased to 120 m, compared to about 60 m with dipped beam. The standard features also include the following safety features:

Adaptive brake light (LED),
Pre-Safe with Brake Assist BAS Plus,
Pre-Safe-Brake,
electromechanical parking brake
plus a Distronic Plus extended by a short-range radar for an extra charge.

Furthermore, the control logic of the electronic control and display system COMAND has been fundamentally renewed and is now carried out centrally by a turn-push slide actuator. In addition, from October 2006 a mobile phone pre-equipment (Code 386) was available with the SIM Access Profile . The C216 Series also features a fully digital and discreetly integrated 5.1 surround sound system . This is made possible by the DTCP technology (Digital Transmission Content Protection). This digital encryption from Harman Kardon enables copy-protected transmission of the signals via optical fibers from the source to the amplifier. This eliminates the need to convert digital signals into analogue, making it possible for the first time to play modern multichannel formats of DVD audio and video as well as DTS CDs without loss in the vehicle.
