The Mercedes Benz MB R129 is a roadster, the two-seat sports car belongs to the SL-Class . The R129 was produced as a successor to the R107 from 1989 to 2001.
The R129 has numerous technological details:

A multi-link axle and an automatically extendable roll bar, which was deployed in fractions of seconds in the event of a rollover to protect the occupants. Later, in addition to the V8 units, the twelve-cylinder engine from the S-Class was available.
In addition, the vehicle was lowered by 20 mm at speeds above 120 km / h and the ground clearance could be increased by 40 mm at speeds of less than 40 km / h at the push of a button.
The R129 was the first Mercedes Benz cabrio to receive an automatic rollover bar, which extends in the event of a rollover within 0.3 seconds. Another safety feature are the A-pillars, which are largely resistant to kinking in the event of a rollover. New were the integral seats, in which the belt and the headrest are integrated into the seat. They offer significantly better lateral support than the seats used until then.

There were a total of three model maintenance:

model maintenance on IAA 1995
model maintenance 1998
model maintenance 2000

In 2001, the R129 was replaced by the R230 . Within the construction period of the model, the Mercedes class designations were introduced.
