The Mercedes Benz MB W169 is a passenger car of the compact class from Mercedes Benz with front-wheel drive sold under the designation A-Class.
Thanks to its innovative design, the engine (just like the W168) can slide under the passenger compartment in the event of a head-on collision and thus effectively reduce the consequences of an accident for the occupants. Due to the sandwich construction (just like the W168), the occupants also sit much higher than other vehicles, which is an advantage in side-impact accidents.
- The W169 series replaced the first generation vehicle (W168) in October 2004.
- With the new edition, a three-door variant was now available, which is also referred to as C169.
- A long version as with the predecessor (V168) was no longer available.
