Mercedes Benz MB W212 E-Class

Predecessor W211 E-Klasse
Successor W213 E-Klasse

The Mercedes Benz MB W212 is a car model of the upper middle class of Mercedes Benz in the E-Class. It was built from early 2009 to January 2016 (sedan) or until May 2016 (station wagon). It replaced its predecessor W211 and is available as a sedan (W212) or station wagon (S212).

Compared to the predecessor, the car looks edgier and more powerful, a design that was already recognizable in the C-Class W204 in 2007. Introduced by the W210 1995 "four-eyes face" was modified by square headlights. The front is now swept, the grille slightly larger than its predecessor. Mercedes-Benz has increased long-distance comfort mainly through a bodywork system with higher rigidity, improved seats and newly developed suspension, whose shock absorbers automatically adapt to the respective driving situation.

Standard features include the Thermatic comfort automatic air conditioning system, which controls the ventilation and temperature with the help of sensors for the driver and front passenger, a cooled glove compartment and two air outlet openings in the rear area. The Direct Control suspension with adaptive damping system automatically adapts the shock absorbers to the driving situation. Attention Assist, available for the first time at Mercedes, analyzes the driving behavior, warns the driver in the speed range between 80 and 180 km/h, as soon as signs of fatigue or inattention are discovered, and calls for a break.

A special feature of the T-model (station wagon) for its vehicle class is that two additional, retractable (child) seats (approved to 1.40 m height) can be ordered for the trunk. If they are raised, then sit the two additional passengers against the direction of travel.

  • It is advertised for the limousine with the slogan "Welcome home. The E-Class."

  • For the T-model (station wagon), the slogan "Elegance creates space. E Class T model."

  • For the Chinese market there is the long version V212.

  • Coupé and Cabriolet form as C207 or A207 the independent series W207.
